31-year old fashion designer Debbie Bogg is making a killing in the Liverpool fashion world since she set up shop over a year ago.

I went along to interview her at her Richmond Street store to find out how she's getting on writes Emma Kreft.

So Debbie, how did you first get into fashion design?
It's something I've always wanted to do. I did a City and Guilds years ago at Prescot College where I learnt how to pattern cut but when I left college I didn't know anything so I started to make clothes and sell them to my friends.

Where did you go to school?
Broughton Hall and then Prescot College.

What did you study?
I did a City and Guilds in Fashion Design and then a Centra Certificate in pattern cutting.

Did you ever have to train or apprentice with another fashion designer?
No.

What inspired you to get into fashion?
Everything. I had a fashion wheel from when I can remember and have always enjoyed making new things. I get inspired by new designs. I get my inspiration from this seasons fashion designs and the latest catwalk trends.

What makes you successful?
I give people what they want.

Describe your philiospy about the art of fashion?
The way it changes so much. The fun of it all, it really makes me laugh when people think that they are being individual when actually all they are doing is following a trend.

What skills do you need to be a fashion designer?
Anyone can sew. You need to know what your customers want and try and keep on keying into what they want.

What do you do during the day?
I tend to wake up stressing out about what I have to do each day. I usually cut out some patterns the night before to save time and the rest of my time is taken up by working through my diary. I'm frustrated at the moment because I don't have much time to design but at the moment I'm making between 15 and 20 dresses a week so I'm busy.

What inspires your designs?
Mainly this seasons catwalk.

If you could do anything else what would it be?
Nothing.

What advice do you have for a young woman who wants to be a fashion designer?
Just go for it, start selling to your friends as it gives you a starting point. Keep at it then if you really want to do it you will get there in the end.

Which celebrities would you like to design clothes for?
Fearne Cotton and Sophie Ellis Bexter.
