Welcome to the first edition of 360° Health & Beauty, I’m Dr Tracey Bell I thought it only manners to explain who I am and how I am qualified to give you the latest trends in modern aesthetic beauty and health. I have been a practicing cosmetic dentist for over 15 years now, I have four clinics, one in Liverpool and three in the Isle of Man. About seven years ago my mother found an article about Botox in a magazine and wanted to try it, and in true Dr Tracey Bell style I went off and developed my knowledge in the field to get a full insight into the treatments available. I have continued to work at the highest level researching with the manufacturers of the latest treatments before the products are launched in the UK.
In the early years, I developed my skills injecting myself and staff, it has long been known that you work for me, the better looking you get as time goes by! We always use any treatment first in house to see and real effects before us offering it to the public, it means we can talk knowledgably about the results you can expect from any treatment.
We are seeing more people than ever coming to our Hanover Street Day Spas who have seen all of the TV shows showing makeovers and these have meant that people have higher expectations from their treatment and don’t expect to have a recovery time in between just like on TV. My hot news for 2008 is a brand new combination treatment developed by Allergan called Juvederm, an advanced 3D Hyaluronic Acid Matrix gel combined with a local anaesthetic, so a true pain free alternative to indictable products where you have to inject a dental block first. It works like fillers on the skin’s volume and on the muscular activity which causes lines, which basically means it offers a smoother, fuller and more long lasting effect than that of other products on the market which tend to be a little more granular and can leave a slightly lumpy feel under the skin. I have been one of the Doctors who have been part of the study for Juvederm, which has only just been released this month after years of clinical testing. It works on reversing the ‘erosion of beauty‘. Working on a whole face approach giving a balanced and natural appearance, which lets face it, everyone should notice, but nobody should know that you have had work done.
