St George's Hall is so very fine
If it were a poem
And I were the poet
I'd write the word "love" into every line
My George is so very grand, full of charm and wit
He really should be a stanza or at least a sonnet
But being scouse, the wit and humour has to be quick
So he's more your short sharp haiku or your limerick
He does look pretty impressive from outside
And once you've FINALLY found your way inside
You'll soon understand all this scouse pride
Cor! If George were a fella I'd wanna be his bride!
Yep! Our George is pretty fit
Even though he's getting on a bit
He's looked after himself has the auld...fella
Got more magic in him than Uri Geller!
George doesn't bend spoons, but he does melt hearts
Host to all kinds of visitors, from line dancers to Lovers of the Arts.
He's got a huge great musical organ, you see
And a tiled floor you can view once a year for free
So from top to bottom, our George is quite a boy
Long may he continue to bring this city happiness and joy!
