In-Dependence
I'm still inflicted and seriously addicted,
by this tormenting Crack-Addiction,
which is neither my excuse,
Or some cunning contradiction.
The dereliction of my young life,
is purely factual non-fiction?
I've lost my families and homes,
through legally enforced evictions.
Then condemned by Judge and Jury,
of the lawful jurisdiction.
Extracting me from your Society.
with a seven-stretch conviction.
This body of mine shows the suffering,
mirroring the horrors of my affliction.
My blood seeps slowly through fractured veins,
That are crumbling with restriction.
Praying desperately for some salvation,
Absolution and benediction,
Envisaging images of the tortured Nazarene,
At the time of his Crucifixion.
