Liverpool Hope University is delighted to announce that The Sisters of
Notre Dame have generously provided scholarship funding for pupils of
seven Notre Dame Schools including Notre Dame Catholic College.
Four scholarships, each worth £3,145 per year of academic study, are
currently available for students applying to commence study in September
2008. An additional four scholarships will also be made available to
pupils who apply next year for the 2009 entry.
Applicants from Notre Dame Catholic College along with six other Notre
Dame Schools across the country, who identify Liverpool Hope University
as their first (firm) choice with UCAS will be eligible to apply for
these prestigious awards.
Commenting on the scholarship opportunity, head teacher of Notre Dame
Catholic College, Christine McCann, said, *We are immensely grateful
to the Sisters of Notre Dame for their generous support for our
students. Attendance at university can be extremely costly and so this
offer of support will be most welcome. It really will open doors into
higher Education for students who might otherwise be deterred by
concerns over finance.*
Liverpool Hope University is one of the oldest higher education
institutions in the North West of England. It is the only example in
Europe of two Catholic colleges of higher education uniting with an
Anglican college to establish an integrated Christian foundation that
opens doors to all irrespective of their religion, class, gender or
race.
Dr Elizabeth Gayton from Liverpool Hope University commented:
*Liverpool Hope University has its roots firmly embedded in the
teachings of St Julie and retains strong links with The Sisters of Notre
Dame across the world. We thank them for their generosity in funding
this initiative and look forward to working with Notre Dame Catholic
College to support the young people who can benefit from these
scholarships.*
