This April, Liverpool will be resounding to the beautiful noise of righteous rock and roll and dance music as Oxjam is coming to town. A whole host of signed and unsigned artists have been confirmed to perform at two gigs to raise money for the charity, Oxfam. Oxjam is Oxfam’s biggest, most ambitious, music event. It’s about raising money to tackle poverty all over the world. All proceeds made from the events will go towards helping people earn a living; get an education; health care; fresh water; and grow more food. We’ll be kicking things off in the salubrious surroundings of Bumper, Hardman Street on Thursday 10th April.
The night will showcase local bands playing the best in crowd rocking electro punk and indie. Then for those who want to party late into the night some of the cities top DJs will take to the decks in the Lemon Lounge (above Metropolitan) to give you an eclectic mix of funk fuelled electro house, soul and disco. The second gig will take over Liverpool’s hotspot Zanzibar on Friday 11th April, where a whole array of up and coming bands will take to the stage to give you a night of indie mayhem, with a list of eight local bands all playing a 30 minute set and acoustic artists upstairs for only £5 entry, its one night not to be missed. All money made from the event will go to charity, so if you want to check out some of the North West’s most talented artists and raise money to help end poverty get these dates in your diary!
